Kabi Kabi Peoples Aboriginal Corporation (ABN 77 487 142 520) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

From time to time, we are required to collect, hold, use and/or disclose Personal Information relating to individuals (including but not limited to its members, proponents, agents, contractors, suppliers and employees)

This Privacy Statement outlines how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard your personal information when you contact us and interact with our website: www.kkpac.org.au.

We may collect the following personal information when you use our website or interact with us:

  • Email address

  • Phone number

  • Demographic information (including Indigenous identity)

  • Information submitted through membership, enquiries or employment applications

We only collect personal information that is essential for carrying out our business and functions.  Where identifiable Personal Information is not essential to these requirements, we only use de-identified information.  

The information we collect from you depends on your relationship with us and accordingly, the purpose for which the information is needed.

  • We do not collect personal information from third parties

  • Processing membership and employment applications

Our preference is to only use data systems and tools that are hosted in Australia.  It may be a contingency of these external service providers to use overseas servers during a system failure.  In this case, our service level agreements require that service providers still abide by Australian privacy laws and standards.

Generally, we will not charge fees for giving you access to your personal information however, we reserve the right to charge reasonable fees where requests for personal information contain complications or are resource intensive to execute.

 

8. Privacy Complaints

If you believe your privacy has been breached, you can contact us at admin@kkpac.org.au.
We will handle complaints in accordance with our internal stakeholder feedback and complaints process and will aim to respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
