Managed by a board of Directors representing the Kabi Kabi peoples, KKPAC works hard to create opportunities and positive outcomes for all Kabi Kabi people and country.
As the Registered Native Title Body Corporate (RNTBC) and Prescribed Body Corporate (PBC) for the Kabi Kabi People, KKPAC is responsible for managing and protecting our Native Title rights and interests, as recognised under the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth). We act as the legal entity that holds Native Title on behalf of all Kabi Kabi People, ensuring our cultural heritage is preserved, our rights to country are upheld, and that we can make decisions about our lands and waters in accordance with our customs and laws.
Our work includes negotiating and managing agreements with government and industry, protecting important cultural sites, supporting sustainable land and sea management through programs like our Ranger teams and creating pathways for social and economic development. We are also responsible for engaging with our members to provide information on current work, encourage participation in decision-making and maintaining a strong connection between our people and our country.
Our strategic vision is that Kabi Kabi peoples are flourishing in two worlds, through a deep knowing of our identity and by asserting our rightful role as modern stewards of our estate.
