KKPAC is very proud to share the exciting news that after a long wait (and a lot of behind-the-scenes work), we can finally confirm KKPAC has successfully secured Federal grant funding for three years that will increase our Ranger team (of 4 positions) with an additional 13 positions and two satellite bases.
The funding boost from the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) in Canberra, led by Minister Malandirri McCarthy, will help KKPAC deliver on the guidance of our people captured in the Kabi Kabi Healthy Country Plan and grow the Indigenous Land and Sea Ranger Program to include more bases and more rangers.

This is a huge win for our people and a big step forward for caring for our country the right way. The funding will help us grow the Ranger team, set up more bases across our estate, and create many new jobs (especially for Kabi Kabi women and youth) who want to step into caring for country. Our estate is massive, and this support means we can start putting Rangers in more places where they are needed and open the doors to women and the younger generation.
We have been eagerly anticipating this announcement, and now that it’s here, we’re already deep into planning the next three years.
Our goal is simple: by the time this funding ends, we want Kabi Kabi to have a strong, skilled, and thriving Ranger Program that can keep growing long into the future.
This is just the beginning.
