It was a big night for Kabi Kabi. KKPAC was honoured to attend the Noosa Biosphere Awards Ceremony on 13 November 2025, where we warmly welcomed by Kerry Neil and took to the stage to present the Social Impact Award.
This category shines a light on the projects across the Noosa region that create positive change, support communities and help care for people and country. The Social Impact Award winner was Zero Emissions Noosa, recognising their work to instal solar for low-income families. What a fabulous initiative! The project installed free solar systems on low-income households in the Noosa Shire, supported by Noosa Council.

But the highlight of the night by far was seeing our very own Aunty Beverly Hand step up on stage and be recognised by the University Sunshine Coast for her tireless work as an Environmental Steward.
Aunty Bev has been sharing knowledge and love of Kabi Kabi country for decades and she was proudly (and loudly!) supported by family and a crowd of friends. So proud of you Aunty Bev!
